Pepper Rutland Louisiana CHarity Events in Spring 2018Spring is an exciting time not only for local charities in the Baton Rouge area, but for groups throughout Louisiana. From cocktail events, to family fun outings, to 5Ks and bike rides and more, there are events taking place this spring to raise funds and awareness for many worthy causes that have direct impacts on the community at large.

 

Here are just a few of the events happening this Spring that you can take part of through donation, volunteering, or taking part at specific events.

 

Happenings In March

Battle of the Salons 2018, March 2 at 7:00pm, will be hosted by The HeadQuarters, in Lafayette, LA,  with a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame theme for the evening. Tickets are $25-$75 and proceeds benefit Healing 4 Heroes.

 

Bowl For Kids’ Sake at the annual bowling event supporting Big Brothers and Big Sisters. The event will also be held in Lafayette, at the Lafayette Lanes on Saturday, March 17, between 11:00am and 1:00pm. Teams of 5 bowlers can be registered and will be required to raise pledges before the event.

 

The 10th Annual Autism Awareness 5k/Family Fun Day will be hosted by the Autism Society Bayou on Saturday, March 17, 7:30am-12:00pm at Morgan City Jr High. Pre-registration is $10 for children ages 5-17, $20 for adults, and free for participants with ASD.

 

On Easter weekend in Luling, LA – specifically Saturday, March 31 – you can attend the Run/Walk/Ride 4 the Angels & Fun Fest . The race, bike ride, and festival benefits Special Angels Outreach, offering individuals with special needs a safe place to play, attend camp, and special events. Tickets to the event are $5-$25, with children and individuals with special needs admitted free. The event begins at 8:00 AM.

 

Happenings In April

The 7th Annual Give HOPE Golf Benefit will be held on Saturday, April 28 at 11:00am. This benefit is a day of golf, food, prizes, and fun, all to be enjoyed here in the Greater Baton Rouge area. The event will be held at Greystone Golf Club, and is hosted by Team HOPE Missions, which serves the less fortunate stateside and abroad.

 

Happenings In May

The 10th Annual Tour du Rouge offers a partial tour of the city, with proceeds going towards support The Arc, an organization serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Typically, this tour is offered over 6 full days, but with this event, you can enjoy the sights starting Sunday, May 6, and running through Tuesday, May 8. This charity bike ride along the Mississippi River covers approximately 94 miles per day. Registration is $50, providing riders with all meals, SAG support, and accommodations. Interested riders must fundraise a minimum of $1,800 prior to the ride to participate.
